First Year Welcome Night

The school recently hosted a Welcome Evening for First Year students and their parents.

First Year students and their parents chatted to teachers and management and found out more about the school and the new subjects being embarked upon by their sons. The overall consensus was that it was a lovely way to meet new friends, make connections and become involved with the school community.

Principal Fiona Gallagher delivered an address to all parents and students. She welcomed each of them to the school community – in particular those new to the CBS. She outlined the ethos of the school and its emphasis on encouraging achievement in a caring environment.

Deputy Principal Mr. Gerry McGarry also spoke about the school’s track record in helping students achieve their third level and career goals. He outlined the range of subjects on offer at the CBS and said that the school’s goal was to offer students as diverse a range of subjects for as long as possible.

Parents and their sons took a tour of some of the classrooms. They were greeted by teachers and had the opportunity to ask questions specific to individual subjects.

We were delighted to see so many parents attend, and look forward to working with them over the coming years. Many thanks also to the Parents’ Association for organising refreshments on the night.
