Transition Year students from CBS Roscommon attended an informative course on Irish law last Monday, held in the school by barrister Adam Dodd.
The talk, which was held as part of the Bar Of Ireland’s “Public Access To Law” initiative currently active throughout the country, was intended to give students an in-depth look into the structure and inner-workings of the Irish legal system. It provided useful, practical information, whilst also instilling a passion and interest for the legal profession.
The day’s work culminated in a mock trial, to allow the students to demonstrate their new knowledge as well as expand their skills in critical thinking and public speaking while experiencing what life as a barrister would be like. Many thanks to Alan for coming into the school.
