The CBS Roscommon will be piloting the ‘One Good School’ programme in the school this year in conjunction with the youth mental health organisation, Jigsaw. Sinead O’Brien – Youth and Cmomunity Engagement Officer with Jigsaw visited the school last week and spoke to teachers about the upcoming initiative. The One Good School campaign would see the CBS providing a training programme designed to improve the mental wellbeing of young people. Using a whole school approach, there would be training to help teachers and parents recognise the triggers which negatively impact on teenagers’ mental wellbeing and to develop strategies to cope with these. Many thanks to Sinead for her presentation and we look forward to putting the programme into action throughout the year.
