Last weekend, the CBS Roscommon had an exhibitor stand at the national Beyond Limits conference – an event highlighting the skills and talents of young people with disabilities, hearing about their achievements, learning about technology, education and employment opportunities, seeing sports and activities in action, and providing a platform for conversations about inclusion and relationships.
The CBS Edmund Rice centre were invited to display the work that they do in supporting students with autism in the school and local community. The event was launched by President Michael D Higgins, was hosted by Julian Benson of Dancing with the Stars and had a host of celebrities from Mark Pollock, Joanne O’Riordan, Adam Harris and GAA and sports stars. Over 1,500 people of all abilities made their way to Croke Park to celebrate children and young people with disabilities, including students, teachers and SNAs from CBS Roscommon. It was a fantastic experience for all those involved.
