Last Wednesday evening, First Year students and their parents attended the school for an information evening on the transition from primary to secondary, and to meet with teachers, management and other parents in an informal setting.
Head of First Year, Ms Buckley spoke to parents about the various procedures in place within the school to ensure that the academic performance and wellbeing of each students is monitored on a regular basis. She spoke about the new mentoring programme in place in conjunction with TY students. She also outlined positive routines that First Years should adopt and emphasised the importance of organisational skills in ensuring that they are prepared for each day. Principal Ms Gallagher also thanked parents for choosing the CBS as the next academic route for their son and outlined the support procedures in place within the school for each student, as well as answering some of questions that parents had. A number of First Year students also spoke about their experiences in the CBS to date and they watched a short movie made by TY students about life in the CBS.
