BT Young Scientist
Six students from the CBS were chosen to exhibit at the BT Young Scientist event in the RDS last week. Supported by their teachers Ms Breege Grennan and Ms Ann Marie O’Callaghan, the students researched and investigated their projects over the past few months. Sean Griffin, Korey Kedian and Sean McCormack prepared and presented a project entitled “An investigation into the silage quality of farms surrounding the Roadstone Quarry in Co. Roscommon”. Michael Devine, Jack Donnelly and Karol Ferrick worked on a project entitled: ‘An investigation into the antiseptic qualities of oils extracted from several plants, for example cloves, tea, and nettles.’ Both projects garnered a lot of interest from judges and visitors. Well done and many thanks to their teachers for their ongoing support.
