CBS Fifth Years – accompanied by their Geography teacher Ms Daly – recently travelled to the Burren Putdoor Education Centre to carry out their geographical field investigation.
The students always enjoy this section of the course as it allows them to apply what they have learnt in the classroom to a real-life environment, and use various types of equipment to carry out a number of practical based tasks.
The aim of the trip was to do a field study of Liscannor Nay and identify features of coastal erosion on our coastline.
The trip was very successful as they were able to carry out activities necessary to complete their field trip report – worth 20% of their overall Leaving Cert grade. They are now working on their report during the school closure. Many thanks to Ms. Daly for organising the trip and supporting students.
