Summer Greetings to All!

Dear Parent & Student,

Over the past two months you have continued your work while the world has faced a pandemic like none of us have witnessed before. Your lives have been filled with highs and lows and much confusion as you listen to the news each day. Now you have placed your pen down and closed your books over and all you can do is simply wait to see what will happen next.

Continuing with our Time Capsule piece the following is an extract from a 1st year student:

At the time I am writing this it is 2020 and we all have to stay inside because of Covid-19. We are getting schoolwork online and we still have lots of assignments to do. Today I am writing a letter to my future self. The letter we write will be given to us at our graduation in 6th year.

If you are reading this on graduation night, I would like to congratulate you on finishing school in one piece. I won’t make this letter too long because there are probably loads of cakes in the hall and you have to get there first before the parents eat them all.

I hope you enjoyed your time in school because this is supposed to be the best time of your life, if so, you should be very worried about college. Hopefully, you have made lots of friends during your journey through school and you are happy to be moving on in your life while still sad to be leaving your friends behind.

This Covid-19 virus has reminded us all that something could put a stop to our lives at any time and the people that are the most important sometimes get the least reward (hope this has changed!) so have fun while you can and never stop learning new things. My Dad always says that every day is a school day (I doubt this has changed).

  • Booklists will be posted on the school website.
  • A text will be sent to you re: the arrangements for lockers and books.  But please read the bulletin on School Books and Lockers posted this morning.
  • Summer Reports will be available on VSware in due course.

Wishing you and your families a relaxing and peaceful summer holiday!
