Autism Awareness Ambassadors from the Edmund Rice Centre spoke to First Year students last week about their experience of autism, and what it means to them.
The presentations which took place last Thursday in Wellbeing Class, were part of the school’s overall Social Inclusion programme. Students with autism spoke First Years about how they experience life both, within school and in the wider community. They encouraged them to see the world around them through the lens of autism, to help them become more understanding and aware. The presentations were hugely, and the First Years felt that they were very informative and well delivered. The students then received a branded CBS sports bag with sweets and treats to celebrate our social inclusion event. Thank you Roscommon County Council’s Social Inclusion Unit for their support and sponsorship. Thank you also to all staff members in the Edmund Rice Centre for their work on making the event happen, and helping our speakers to prepare for the presentations.
