Virtual Visit from Childrens’ Ombudsman

Virtual Visit from Childrens’ Ombudsman

The Edmund Rice Centre had a virtual visit last week from Children’s Ombudsman, Dr. Niall Muldoon. He spoke to the students about his role in giving advice to the Government, helping to develop policies promoting children’s rights and welfare, highlighting issues of concern to children and monitoring legislation. He also mentioned some of the particular concerns posed by the pandemic and asked them how they were getting on attending school virtually. He was an interesting and entertaining speaker, and the students loved hearing from them. Many had met him previously at a conference promoting more inclusion for people with additional needs and were delighted to speak to him again. Many thanks to the staff of the Edmund Rice Centre in setting up this event.
