Last Friday, the CBS Roscommon u14s took on The Bish in Creggs RFC, coming away with a narrow victory over the Galway side.
CBS opened the scoring eight minutes into the match with a penalty making it 3-0 to CBS. 12 minutes, The Bish scored a try and converted it to make it 7-3 to The Bish. A couple of minutes later, The Bish scored another try and missed the conversion to make the score 12-3. 16 minutes in The Bish got through and knocked it on over the line and the CBS were able to clear their lines. 21 minutes in, The Bish scored under the post and made the 16 point game at 19-3. Seconds before half time, CBS scored a try under the post and made the score at half time was 19-10.
Thirty six minutes into the game, The Bish got over the line but the ball was held up and CBS got to clear. With 16 minutes left CBS got over the line to score a try but unfortunately did not convert it to make it a 4-point game at 19-15 to The Bish. With 10 minutes to go The Bish scored another try and had a lead of 26-15. CBS with 8 minutes left had a try disallowed for a shoulder charge and the game remained a 11-point game. 2 minutes later CBS end up getting over under the posts and converted it to make it 26-22.
In the last 2 minutes of the game, CBS scored a try to make it 27-26 but failed to make the conversion. It was now a 1-point game to CBS Roscommon and in the last kick of the game The Bish tried to win it with a penalty and narrowly missed it. With a narrow margin. CBS won the first game of the season.
