About Us
We are a Catholic Boys’ Voluntary Secondary School under the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST) with a long tradition of delivering educational excellence in Roscommon and its surrounding areas.

Our ethos is to promote the happiness, dignity, and self-worth of each student, inspiring them to become transformational leaders within the community.

Future Developments
We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded significant funding for new school buildings and facilities which will enable us to increase and improve our subject offering within the school.

Welcoming Environment
We provide a welcoming environment for students, and ensure that they have a robust support network to ensure they thrive in a happy, encouraging environment. We also provide a welcoming environment for, as we strongly recognise their role as partners in education.

Extensive Range of Subjects
CBS Roscommon offers a very extensive range of Junior and Senior Cycle subjects, provided by a highly qualified, dedicated and dynamic teaching staff. A low teacher-pupil ratio within the school allows for smaller, more focused classes. It also enables us to cater for a variety of learning abilities and talents.

Striving for Excellence
CBS Roscommon identifies and serves the needs of students and puts in place appropriate resources, programmes and methodologies to enable everyone to achieve his potential. We believe in having high expectations for all of our students. Students consistently perform better when they know that their teachers and parents believe in them.
Students are always encouraged to aim high and achieve their personal best. We have an excellent academic reputation in state examinations, and a high percentage of our students’ progress to third level education.

Additional Resources and Supports
We work tirelessly to ensure that we provide the best possible education for all students, including those who require learning support. Where students have special educational needs, there is a proactive SEN department in the school who work to support students in every possible way.

Edmund Rice Centre
Our Edmund Rice Centre – a purpose-built facility at the heart of the CBS –offers an excellent secondary school education for those on the Autism Spectrum, providing them with state-of-the-art facilities as well as excellent teachers and Special Needs Assistants.
