CBS Roscommon – Embracing 75 years of education
Since our foundation in 1937, the Christian Brothers’ Secondary School Roscommon has been a forward thinking community, one which provides the very best environment and atmosphere to foster excellence inside and outside the classroom.
As a Catholic Boys’ Voluntary Secondary School under the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST), our ethos is to promote the happiness, dignity and self-worth of each student, and inspiring them to become transformational leaders within the community.
Our school has a long tradition of delivering educational excellence in Roscommon and its surrounding areas. A huge source of pride for us is seeing our past pupils achieve great successes in their personal, academic and working lives.
We provide a welcoming environment for parents, and strongly recognise their role as partners in education.
CBS Roscommon offers a very extensive range of Junior and Leaving Certificate subjects, provided by a highly qualified, dedicated and dynamic teaching staff. A low teacher-pupil ratio within the school allows for smaller, more focused classes. It also enables us to cater for a variety of learning abilities and talents.
We believe that exchanges and trips give students the chance to broaden their world view, and are an essential part of the learning experience. This year, our students have participated in both Spanish and French exchanges. We believe that the experience gained from these exchanges is invaluable for the development of the student, and help them build the confidence to communicate effectively in their target language.
