Local Entrepeneur speaks to TYs

Last Friday, local entrepreneur and past pupil, Gearoid Tully spoke to TY students about his professional path and the steps that led him to forming a thriving business and getting him to the career he is currently in.

Gearoid is a former CBS Roscommon pupil and went on to study Business development in Sligo IT. He then went on to obtain a role in recruitment in the construction industry. With his experience on the construction site and understanding and down to earth attitude led him abroad to work where he excelled, and his name became very evident in the industry. This year he switched to LinkedIn where he is once again working in recruitment.

Since coming home from working abroad he noticed a gap in the market in Roscommon, so he went on to set up Brewpoint during the lockdown, a mobile coffee shop.

Both students and teachers were thankful for Gearoid’s visit, and everyone was inspired by his career so far. Many thanks to Mr Heneghan for organising the talk. (Article by Kevin Beirne)
