Congratulations to Martin Connaughton, Dylan Carroll, Senan Mahon and Seamus Hussey, along with their teacher Ms. Grennan, on winning the “Climate Detectives Crossing STEM” national competition. Organised by the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO), Science Foundation Ireland and Teagasc, it is an initiative where students are challenged to make a difference in understanding and protecting earth’s climate by completing a project in their locality. The boys surveyed the quality of the air around the school and identified factors which contributed to a spike in poorer air quality. They now go on to represent Ireland in Italy from the 20th-22nd of May. Phenomenal achievement lads, we couldn’t be prouder!
