Last Friday, a representative of The Simon Community held a workshop for the TY’s of CBS Roscommon. He spoke to the lads about homelessness, causes of homelessness and what the Simon Community do to help people who suffer from homelessness. It was a very insightful talk and opened the TY’s eyes to how prominent homelessness is in Ireland. They heard about ordinary people who suddenly found themselves homeless, and the impact this had on their lives.  The TYs also learned about practical ways that they can do to help The Simon Community, participating in fundraisers and volunteering to help. Many thanks to the Simon Community and thanks to TY Co-ordinator Mr. Griffith for organising the event. (Article by Cian Gacquin, TY)
