Last Thursday CBS Roscommon TY student commenced Cycle Safety course given by Noel Feeley of Roscommon Sports Partnership.
The aim of the course is to teach students about road safety – rules for cycling such as hand signals and road positioning. It will also prepare students for cycling to Roosky.
Next week most of the students hope to cycle to Roosky which is about 40 km away. This cycle to Roosky will challenge the students and they will be able to put into practice what they have learned during their time completing the cycling training course.
Overall the students found the course enjoyable and they had a lot of fun. According to one TY student “ the course was very enjoyable and I learned many new cycling skills that I can use in the future.”
I would like to finish by thanking the TY coordinator Mr. Griffith for organizing this course and I would also like to thank Noel Feeley of Roscommon sports partnership. (article by Daniel Bolger, TY)
